Actors playing characters double their age is a common phenomenon on Indian television and one of the victims of this is Vaishnavi aka Meera of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si. The actor who plays mother to Kanchi Kaul is barely a few years elder to the main lead but still convincingly portrays a middle aged single woman struggling to make ends
meet with an unwed pregnant daughter.
The actor is now a little weary of being stereotyped in the old aged roles and wants to shift focus on other talents possessed by her. She is going to Kochi end of this month to make use of her vocal chords and voice a song for music maestro Sunny Vishvanathan.
She says, "I want to play roles that reflect my personality and my liveliness. I don't want to play college girl roles obviously, but roles with more substance are what I am now looking for. I also look forward to playing characters I haven't portrayed before, like a negative personality."
The actor also had a photo shoot recently and her new avatar is completely astonishing. It's difficult to believe that this simple, traditional middle class woman whom we see on screen can look so young, ravishing and stunning in classic western outfits too. Her photographer Pinky Makhijani has done a fabulous job on her with exquisite clothing from Violet Moines.
The actress is now going to sign selected roles only in which she gets a chance to show her full aptitude. She is a qualified nutritionist herself and doesn't want to do roles just for the sake of a big banner. Well, Vaishnavi after seeing your new avatar, we too were taken aback and let us assure you that you look simply gorgeous! We are sure stars are soon going to change for you for the better! |
