A court in UP has ordered Mumbai's Cuffe Parade police station to attach painter and filmmaker M. F. Hussain's properties. It has also declared him a proclaimed offender.
The order has been passed on a complaint filed by lawyer Arvind Srivastav in 2005 against two of Hussain's paintings, namely, Bharatmata and Krishna in semi-nude, hurting sentiments of Hindus.
Hussain fled India immediately following the incident and has been staying with one of his son in Dubai and hasn't returned to India since.
M. F. Hussain has directed films like 'Gaja Gamini' and 'Meenaxi -Tale of 3 Cities'.
