Rani conned many as Babli in Bunty Aur Babli and was liked by her fans but the star got conned in real life which shocked many. Rani has been duped of Rs. 33 lakhs for a plot of land bought in Shirdi, the pilgrimage town.
Rani bought the plot to build a house but was duped into paying for land belonging to the State Farming Corporation. She had bought 1,100 sq. meters of land near Nimgaon Korhade at Shirdi, 271 km north of Mumbai, in December 2005 from Sampat More for Rs. 33 lakh. When Rani's father Ram Mukherjee applied for the inclusion of her name on a document proving ownership, it was found that the land was conditionally leased out for tilling by the State Farming Corporation to Raman Kshirsagar. |
